Description:
Monte Mayor is well recommended as a superb and unique venue for any golfer visiting the Costa del Sol in Spain. It is known as the king of the "Golf Coast"
Monte Mayor is one of the last remaining valleys on the coast where such an abundance of natural vegetation can be found. This natural beauty is mainly due to the surrounding mountain range that protects it from strong winds and the 3 rivers that run through it, providing a wealth of natural water, creating its own microclimate.
Monte Mayor consists of approximately 330 hectares of land, which is divided into the golf course covering 635.000m2, green zone covering 1.110.900m2 and development land covering 1.550.000m2. Due to the green zone and golf course, 54% of Monte Mayor will remain untouched. In the remaining 46% a low building volume of 12.2% has been approved, therefore maintaining privacy between plots.
The golf course is surrounded by mountains and 3 different rivers within the development, the Guadalmansa to the south west, the Inarro to the north west and the Romera that runs down the middle of the golf course, the area enjoys its own microclimate , which accounts for the consistent lush vegetation and excellent golfing conditions. Not only can you enjoy the beautiful mixture of vegetation including olive trees, pines, silver birches and 100 year old oak trees, Monte Mayor boasts its own wildlife, such as rabbits, boars, deer, goats and royal eagles are just to name a few.
Playing at Monte Mayor Golf is an experience where each hole is an infinite challenge on its own. Blind tee shots, steep ravins and terraced fairways, you will find it all at Monte Mayor. Each hole on this golf course has its own characteristics which makes playing Monte Mayor Golf a unique experience.
The tee’s at the long 4th hole are on a raised platform and your drive must land on an isolated plateau. Your second shot is aimed at yet another plateau, and beside the green is a beautiful cascading waterfall.
The Monte mayor is the most enjoyable course and the clubhouse is popular. It’s well worth to have a short trip into the countryside to play this course.
