English Cemetery
Located near the bull ring it sits right in the heart of the city; making for a rather unusual historical monument. This cemetery is here for over a hundred years and is spread over an area of 8000 sq. meters. Established in 1831, it is one of the most important sites in Malaga today. In 1839, a new lodge temple with Doric columns in the classical style, and a small chapel, was added. After its expansion in 1890, it became the present day St. George Anglican Church.
The cemetery has a beautiful botanical garden with remarkable species of plants and trees. A foundation has been created to enable individuals and companies to give donations for the upkeep of the cemetery.
